7 Steps to Host a Lovely Valentine’s Day Brunch

By February 10, 2017 February 13th, 2017 Dining, It's A Boser Life, Lifestyle

Whether you are with the love of your life or if your looking and swiping right Valentine’s Day is one of those holidays that focuses on the ones you love. If it’s your man or your besties we thought we would share a little Valentine’s Day inspiration shoot that we think everyone will love no matter what your relationship status is. Brunch is one of my most favorite fun to get together and celebrate ❤

We wanted to share with you how to host a fabulous brunch with your loves while shopping local and took over Unit 29 at Mason + Grove to do it!

A Touch of Decor

For this beautiful Valentine’s Day brunch we brought out the old and brought in some new to complete this look.
I don’t know if anyone is like me that they put a whole swack of China on their wedding registry and never use it. I’m so scared that I’ll break the darn stuff but really it’s just being neglected. So I pulled out all my wedding China for the Valentine’s Day brunch. Creamy whites and hues of gold were the perfect touch.

Fresh Flowers

Flowers are always a sign of love and beauty. Swish Flowers showed us the most magical array of florals. For a Valentine’s Day brunch they used a melange of pink, corals, reds and oranges. The orange is a great punch of color to tie in the mimosas right. And what’s a love Day brunch without some bubbly? I made a quick trip to Hicks Fine Wines to pick up the perfect refreshments.

Eat Cake For Breakfast

A notion that requires no explanation. Cake for breakfast is always a good idea,  brunch or not. You’ve earned it.

Capture The Moments

You’ve put the work in already so you may as well snap a few pictures to relive it all.

Spread The Love

I always love to treat the ones I love with something sweet. The 4-pack box of candy cubes that Suguarfina makes are so cute and Swish Flowers has an unreal selection to choose from!

Sip Away

One of the best staples to any brunch is a good cup of hot coffee – our local brew came from Good Earth. I’ve totally become a coffee snob and have perfected the art of coffee with almond milk.

Almond Milk

Almond Milk is my coffee jam especially when you froth it with the Nespresso Milk Frother. Here’s my recipe on how to make homemade almond milk.

Get Started:

  • Soak 3 cups of almonds over night in the fridge.
  • Get a nut bag. Don’t use the cheese cloth to strain the almond milk it’s a disaster.

In blender, blend:

  • 1 cup of soaked almonds
  • 3.5 cups of cold water
  • 2 dashes of cinnamon
  • 4 dates
  • A dash of salt
  • Blend until all smooth.
  • Strain almond milk.
  • Store in mason jars for a week in the fridge.

Sip away as this concoction of coffee and frothed almond milk is a total game changer for me.

Skip The Dishes

We’ll skip the cooking dishes at least. St. Albert has the new app, SkipTheDishes.com, where you can order in your favorites. Save yourself some time and prep work and order in from your favourite St. Albert restaurant.

We opted in for a delicious breakfast order from our local Cora and took advice from our Easy Like Sunday Morning pillow.

Sip, Savor and Laugh

love to all my friends
