Woodlands is a nature lovers' dream, located on the eastern side of St. Albert. This leaf-shaped neighbourhood has access to many parks, trails, outdoor amenities, and runs right along the Sturgeon River. When construction began in the late 1970s, there was a lot of controversy over the new neighbourhood because St. Albert residents feared the expansion would make St. Albert too large and burden the Police. However, after many discussions, the building went ahead and it was a new chapter for St. Albert in maintaining the small towns feel while accommodating the new residents. Woodlands sits adjacent to Oakmont, Kingswood, Pineview, and Braeside. Woodlands is perfect for all ages as it remains quiet but active with all the easily accessible amenities. If you are looking for urban living in a natural setting, Woodlands is for you.
